Colin Sandberg:

Colin earned a degree in Industrial Engineering in 1999, but after working for General Motors and Delphi Automotive for 5 years he decided to take a very different direction with his career and become a full time cycling coach. Colin has over 20 years of bike racing experience, having competed in some of America’s biggest races including the Tour of Connecticut, The Univest Grand Prix, the Tour of Somerville and the Parx Philly Cycling Classic. He is still an active Cat. 1 and Master’s racer because he believes that it’s necessary to “practice what you preach” and that a coach can see their athletes better when they are riding beside them in training rides as well as races. Colin has been coaching for over 10 years, having coached riders of all ages and abilities. As of 2013 he has helped his athletes win 11 National Championships, countless state championships, 6 UCI top 10 finishes and even a win in a UCI WorldTour race. With the mind of an engineer, he uses his technical background to help his athletes optimize their time and reach their goals, no matter how big or small.

Zach Houlik: Lees-McCrae Cycling Team, Banner-Elk, NC

"When I first met Colin, he immediately struck me as a great coach.  He has extremely impressive credentials and experience in both coaching and racing.  On top of all of this, he has the perfect mix of both seriousness and humor."

Zia Modabber, Helen's Cycling Team, Santa Monica, CA

"I’ve worked with Colin for many years now, and he’s coached me as a Cat 3, a Masters racer, and now a retired (from racing) athlete.  As my coaching needs have changed, Colin has been right there helping me fit the highest quality training possible into my otherwise very busy life.  I still want to train hard, stay strong on the  bike, and fit overall, and because Colin’s knowledge goes far beyond training plans, he can help me achieve ALL my fitness goals."
